Yadollah discusses techniques for rooting, expanding, and spiraling.
ROOTING
Feet should be hip width apart, and the outsides of the feet should be straight and parallel to each other.
Shift weight to the balls of the feet. Place heels on the floor, but do not shift the weight back to the heels.
Bend the knees slightly.
Place your hands on your hip flexors at the front of your hips. Make sure your pelvis is in a neutral position, and not shifted with hips locked forward.
Check to make sure that your weight is still on the balls of your feet.
Open your chest, and settle your shoulders.
Pull chin in, so the back of the neck is flat. Touch the top (crown) of your head and push up from the balls of the feet to the top of the head. Establish a center line from the balls of the feet to the top of the head.
Settle and root, and wait a moment.
EXPANDING
Now you can expand by extending your arms up and forward into universal stance. After a while, settle palms back down.
SPIRALING
Turn your waist moving from your center. Lips are open. Do stationary partition or cloud hands. When finished, always push the energy back to the feet.
Feel the totality of your body. Can you maintain your center as you are moving? Are you opening from your center, or are you rushing forward into your shoulders and leaving your center? If you leave your center, your hips and knees will be positioned more forward (relative to your feet), and your weight will be going into your knee.
At the completion of partition, another person holding your extended hand, should not be able to pull your forward. Also, without shifting your weight, you should be able to stand up on the toes of both feet.
